THE PLAN
This journey is designed for travelers who want cultural immersion paired with light adventure. It starts with visits to markets and sacred sites, then continues into the more remote parts of the Baliem Valley.
The heart of the trip is the overnight stay in Kilise, a traditional Dani village surrounded by mountains and indigenous farmland. You’ll share stories over the fire, eat what the locals eat, and sleep as they do—in a simple hut made from wood and grass.
The experience is personal, respectful, and built around human connection.

CHALLENGES
This trip is not technically difficult, but comfort can be basic. The trekking days involve up to 3 hours of hiking. The weather can be cool, especially during rain and in the nights.
Transport includes jeep rides and one short motorcycle transfer with short offroad segments.
Flexibility and respect are essential—especially when entering tribal spaces.
